Goechala trek situated in western Himalaya of Sikkim, and Sikkim is 22nd state of India this state are formed in north east part of India,Goechala it means the pass between the border of west Sikkim and North Sikkim, from here get the crystal clear view of third highest world peak Mt. Kanchenjunga, This goechala trek route begin from Yuksom, Yuskom is main base camp of this Goechala trekking and other trek like Singalila trek, Kasturi round trek, and this is the main base camp for the some expedition peak, most the trek are begin from this place yuksom, So This Goechala trekking is different than the other trek, why it is different this trekking? because from the summit of Goechala, you will get the opportunity to view of 20-25 mountain summit. Goechala is thus, considered to be the closest to the big mountains of Mt. Kanchenjunga and other many peaks. In order to see all the mountain summits, you would need a crystal clear view mountain. Goechala trek is one of the most beautiful and difficult trekking in Sikkim,
Thus, the best time to goechala trek seasons is the month of March to June and September to Mid December. This is the best time when the mountains are really visible and you can see the clear sunrise and the sunset. October November is mostly dry and cold. The weather is crisp cold and comfortable and value of visiting as well.

Goechala trek you may finish on day of 8 days from the Yuksom village. When you would need to be fit and healthy. The climbs are gradual steep and the altitude is also insignificant, The minimum age for this trek is 14 years. So the trek route is long you need to be patiently walk well.

Yuksom is Trekking base camp and nearest air port is Siliguri Baghdogra Airport and Nearest rail way station is Siliguri New Jalpaiguri rail way station, and Distance is near about 150Km to Yuksom trekking base camp. And after reach there you can get the share taxi from the Siliguri town.
After arrival from different location to Baghdora airport or Rail way station NJP. there is company representative like guide driver, And our representative will brief about further some programmed and after that take proceed toward to Yuksom via Melli check post, this Melli check post are border between the state of Sikkim and West Bengal and there is asking you about your identity card, just show the card there on check post and continue drive to yuksom, it will take reah Yuksom near about 4 hours exactly. After long drive from siliguri tired feeling. so after reach get check in hotel and relax have some cup of tea and after relaxing, meet with guide, leaders they are giving you instruction for further plan and discuss for everything about trek. so after finish all than should go have some dinner and go to bed. Basic information about Yuksom-elevation is 1780 Meter. Yuksom the first capital of Sikkim, first kingdom palace of Sikkim in the year of 1642, People live around Yuksom near about 1500 include, Bhutia, Lepcha, Gurung, Limboo, chettri, Rai etc.
The trek start from yuksom local village market toward to north direction with inside the forest or Kanchenjunga National park, and when you can stand to see the north direction then get view of white snow peak there it is your destination and called this peak are Mt. North Kabru the elevation of this peak are 7338 meter , after 2 km away from Yuksom you will enter in side of Kanchenjunga national park area and you can walk bank of Rathong river, and you will crosses on the first day trekking ,the two hanging steel bridges and after that will reach camp site and stay overnight in side of peaceful forest with the evening glittering with the sound of birds.
This day first part of trek it is gradual straight and down hill by the lush green forest reach third bridge called Prek Chu, from here the trek is mostly uphill till to Tshoka.
This day you have to walk bit a earlier then previous day this day bit a harden then other day 13 km walking and 1000 meter climb. this day the trees found little shorter than other day and you will found different varieties of rhododendron, the lunch have on the way of at phedang 3500 meter. After lunch walk two and half hours climb to Dzongri and stay overnight in coldest places.
This day will get up early morning because should be go on the Dzongri top, from the to get super view of Sikkim Himalaya, like in panoramic 180 degree view of mountain. so do not delay to go on the top because not only the view of mountain so it is important see the sunrise on the top of mountain. after reach to take view and enjoy of nature, well breathing of fresh air, and back camp be refresh and go to for breakfast, after that proceed toward to Thangsing. Thangsing it means flat land. so this places form in the bottom of the mountain. very interesting land. lunch will be at Kokchurung, after lunch continue walk to thangsing.
Do not rust this day, because it is quet near walk into the flat of land, it will take to reach 1 and half hour to reach the Lamuney camp. but above here from the Thansing there it is some view point, from this view point get awesome view of Mt. Kanchenjunga if you would like to go or not you may decide at Thangsing coordinate with the leader or with guide.and it is depend on to participant to go or not. and after breakfast proceed to Lamuney after reach camp do relax and enjoy be prepare for your main destination Goechala this is hardest part of this trek, next morning at around 3am leave from camp.
Waking up early morning like around 3. am, Cook provide you some tea biscuit porridge after having some light meal proceed toward ascending to Samiti lake after that again one and half hour ascend by uphill after finish this steep reach to the top of first Goechala or Zemathang so this place are completely formed a moraines, at here be hold and take mesmarising view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and other many peak, actually the goechala is here I,II,III but in this of 3 pass not much different, why the avoiding to go further next passes because last year of 2017 the department of wildlife decide to go band this pass the reason is that last Goechala pass is the Animal corridor specially the Snow leopard, So after enjoy and taking of picture get toward down to Lamuney via same samiti lake, relax some hour and than proceed toward down Thangsing either Kokchurung. stay overnight.
Rising up early proceed to leave as soon as possible, because from the Tshoka get some mobile phone network, so from the Kokchurung do not need to climb back Dzongri route so from the Kokchurung the route will be divert to another way to reach Phedang, by the huge rhododendron forest. after phedang get descend toward to Tshoka. Lunch will be on the way.
Trek descent again same way back till to Yuksom. Lunch will be on the near the river. after lunch continue walk down to yuksom, be refresh and relax stay overnight.
This day every one should be move by the schedule of flight ticket, train ticket, decide timing to leave from the yuksom, so 7 hour reach to Siliguri from the Yuksom, every participant should be decide time and give the accurate time to driver, or to coordinator. according to your timing put vehicle in Hotel.

Foreigners must obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Sikkim. These can be obtained from all Indian Missions, Sikkim Tourism Offices at New Delhi, Kolkata, District Magistrates Office of Darjeeling, Siliguri, and Rangpo on the strength of an Indian Visa. The 30 days duration Permit is issued on the spot without any delay provided photocopies of the passport and visa along with two pass port photos of the applicants are made available. The permissible duration of the stay for foreign tourists is 30 days initially.
The State Government is authorized to extend the same by a further period of 30 days. The extension of the permit can be obtained from FRO at Gangtok and office of Superintendent of Police of the North, West and South Districts.
For those interested in going for trekking in the interior region of the state, the Tourism and Civil Aviation issues Protected Area Permit (PAP) at Gangtok which is available for certain specified area for groups consisting of two or more foreigners subject to condition that the trekking programme is arranged through a registered travel agency.
