The route for the trek may seem hard for occasional trekkers, but for regular trekkers, there is slightly less arduous, but a tad longer another route. The weather of the Hill is really uncertain, as rain may fall anytime, even when it may be sunny. But it is nothing to be worried about, as there is a small hut, a couple of hundred meters before the Peak, which is used by the trekkers for camping. And once you pass through the forest to the peak of the Hill, you would undoubtedly be spellbound by the breathtaking view of the majestic Himalayas.
Best Time To Visit
The months of March to May offer the best of the weather condition to go for a trek to Maenam hill. The trails will be embellished with well-groomed trees and enchanting views of orchids and rhododendrons all around. One has to acquire permit from the forest office department before starting with the trek.
There are regular buses or shared taxis available from Namchi to reach Maenam. One can also hire a private taxi from Namchi if wishes to enjoy the scenic beauty by taking irregular halts in between.

The treks to Maenam Hill come as a combined visit to the Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary, where one can spot the rare species of Himalayan birds and animals amidst their natural habitat. The Temi Tea Estate blessed with natural beauty and intense aroma of the finest tea, is a must visit for the tourists of Sikkim. Then there other popular tourist spots such as the Rimbi Waterfalls, Sewaro Rock Garden, Khecheopalri Lake, Rabdentse Ruins, Khangchendzonga Waterfalls, Sang Da Choeling Monastery and Pemayangtse Monastery located in Pelling, which are quite easily accessible from Maenam Hill.
