Sandakphu and Phalut trek elevation is encircled around 12,000 feet which is approx 2 times less than the elevation of Mt Everest hence we also call it Sandakphu Peak. The Sandakphu Phalut trek distance is approximately forty-six kilometers in length. It requires around 7 days to comfortably complete the trek along with acclimatization. This interesting trek takes across the dense forest as well. Mesmerizing View Mt Everest from Sandakphu Peak is one of the unforgettable experience for trekkers.

To get the best out of your trek, you need a professional and experienced Sandakphu trek guide who can guide you to the best path and describe the beauty and importance of the place. If the guide fails to describe the importance of the place or show you the view, you should not miss it. You could lose the essence of the place and return with a sunken face. Give sufficient time before choosing the guide that benefits your trip.

There are several diverse Sandakphu trekking routes in this region. Depending on the season, the physical fitness of the participants, and the number of allotted days, we can sort out the Sandakphu Trek route.

Sabargram is the next destination; Sabargramis located between the two hills of Sandakphu and Phalut, making it the main junction for the trek; the distance from Sabargum to Phalut is only 6-7Km, while Sandakphu is 14Km. Most trekkers take in the view from Sabargum, which is also one of the best viewpoints on this trek.

Detailed Itinerary - 3 Nights / 4 Days Tour
Maneybhanjang is 110Km/4:30hrs from Gangtok, a small town in Darjeeling district is the starting point for the trekking route Sandakphu–Phalut section of the trail while trekking north. Maneybhanjang is situated at an altitude of 6600ft above sea level on the Indo-Nepal border. Maneybhanjang is a small business town in Sukhia Pokhri Police station and is 32kms from Darjeeling town by road via Ghoom. Although Maneybhanjang does not have much tourist attraction in itself, it is a very very important place in popular Sandakphu Phalut trekking route in Singalila range. Kalipokhri (10400 feet/3186 m) is a small Himalayan village inside the Singalila National Park is 1:30hrs/33Km from Maneybhanjang. It lies on the trekking route from Mane Bhanjang to Sandakphu (the highest peak in West Bengal), and is roughly halfway between the steep final stretch of the trek from Gairibans to Sandakphu. There is a small lake having black coloured water. This lake is considered sacred by the local people. At Kalipokhri there are a number of homestays. Night halt at Kalipokhri.
Start very early in the morning next day. You will not like to miss out on the panoramic view of the snow peaks from Sandakphu, which is best seen early in the morning. The distance from Kalipokhri to Sandakphu might seem only 7 km, but this stretch is clearly one of the most difficult ones in the entire Sandakpu trek route. You can see the Sandakphu Peak from Kalipokhri itself, but reaching there is not easy. From Kalipokhri, the trail gradually ascends to Bhikeybhanjan, 2 km away. From Bhikeybahanjan, the climb to Sandakphu is the steepest. Haven’t you heard of the saying, ‘great things do not come easy’. The same happens in this case too. As it is, trekking at an altitude of 10000 feet is not that easy. And here the trail is also quite steep. The 4 km stretch can easily take more than 2 hours to cover. Overnight stay at Sandakhphu.
After breakfast in the morning start the day by a trek descending from Sandakafu to Srikhola. For the first half of the trek, climb up to Gurudam. For the next half-hour, a 02-hour descent will take you to Srikhola. Dinner and overnight stay in Srikhola Camp.
After breakfast check out from the Srikhola camp. Drop to Siliguri/Darjeeling (Own cost)
